Qualified Electronic Signature/seal (QES) -securing of PDF documents and documents stored in ZIP (ASiC-E/S) through, e.g. eID chip of identification card

The QES application can be used for timestamping and for creation of qualified electronic signatures and seals in accordance with Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1506 (PDF documents, EXE - applications or any other type of documents especially in (ASiC) ZIP container which can be also nested).

Necessary update - from version 1.1.18, the QES application contains a new key to verify the Trusted List, if you have an older version (you can find out by clicking on the "?" button), run it in the MS Store after updating the QES application, or download the new QES.EXE file and overwrite the original. 

The QES application is intended for creation of 8 categories of qualified electronic signatures, seals (QES), 3 categories of timestamps (QTS), adding QTS to QES and browsing the ASiC and PDF signature containers.

Browsing the documents and their signatures and seals

After inserting one or more of the signed documents or ASiC signature containers or PDF signature containers into the application list it is possible to browse them through a double-click and export secured documents.

After the nesting into the container it is possible to through stating the numbers of the signature or of the time-stamp to select documents, which have been secured by the respective signature or time-stamp. Clicking on the "Export" button or the "View" button facilitates copying or displaying of secured documents from the container.

After the nesting into the container and stating the numbers of the signature or time-stamp it is possible to display the content of the certificate of the individual that secured the document.

Inserting the document into the ASiC signature

An ASiC file will be inserted into the file list in the QES application, e.g. "submission.asice", into which a document is to be inserted, e.g. file "document.pdf" and is to be signed.

After inserting the ASiC file into the QES application the ASiC will be opened by a double-click, a new file can be inserted to the list, the order of the files will be set in the container followed by clicking the button "Sign".

Alternative proceeding:

  1. An ASiC file can be inserted into the file list, e.g. file "submission.asice".

  2. Into the file list in the QES application a new file with a document "document.pdf" is to be inserted.

  3. File document "document.pdf" can be clicked on by the right mouse button and the possibility "1. ASiC" can be selected and afterwards the ASiC file will be selected and opened, e.g. "submission.asice", where the document is to be added.

  4. The button "Sign" is to be clicked on.
